Maybe you're worried about being rushed, ignored or coached to birth in a way that isn't yours. Maybe your last birth didn't go how you hoped and you don't want to feel that way again. Maybe you simply don't know what your options even are yet.
Whatever brought you here, you don't have to figure this out alone. And you don't need to have it all worked out before we speak.
Is This You?You've had a difficult birth before and want this one to feel different
You want a home birth, VBAC or planned caesarean. And want someone genuinely on your side whichever way things go
You have a birth partner, but want extra reassurance and continuity they can't provide alone
You're not sure what you want yet, and want space to figure that out with someone who won't push an agenda
You just want a familiar, calm face in the room. Not a stranger meeting you for the first time in labour
If any of that sounds like you, keep reading.
“I feel that I had a positive birth and was able to make my own choices throughout. I felt in control the whole time, I feel that if it wasn’t for Paige my birth experience would have been totally different.”
How It WorksGetting to know each other We begin with a dedicated antenatal session focused entirely on getting to know one another . Your pregnancy so far, your hopes for birth, any concerns you have and how I can best support you and your family. Knowing who'll be with you during one of the most significant moments of your life makes a real difference to how safe and supported you feel.
Preparing for birth As your pregnancy progresses, our antenatal support is tailored entirely to your needs. We'll explore your birth preferences, discuss your options and prepare for different possibilities so you and your birth partner feel informed and confident.
As a qualified Hypnobirthing Facilitator, if you like, I bring hypnobirthing techniques as well as education around birth physiology into our sessions to help you approach birth with greater calm and trust in your body. I also offer gentle pregnancy biomechanics guidance to support comfort and encourage optimal positioning for your baby. Plus a personalised Comfort Touch massage session, dedicated entirely to your wellbeing.
Your on call period From (usually) 38–42 weeks, I'm on call for you. Ready the moment labour begins. During labour, I offer continuous emotional, physical and informational support. Encouragement, comfort measures, information to support your decisions, advocacy or simply a calm, steady presence. I can support you at home, in hospital or on a midwifery led unit. Wherever you choose to welcome your baby.
If your birth changes direction, whether that's a transfer to hospital, an unplanned caesarean, or anything else, I stay with you throughout. My support isn't dependent on things going to plan.
Your birth partner Your birth partner stays at the heart of your birth team. Rather than replacing them, I help them feel confident and involved with guidance and practical suggestions throughout labour. So they can focus on supporting you knowing they have support too.
After birth My support doesn't end once your baby arrives. I remain a steady point of contact for reassurance, feeding support and early questions as you settle into life with your baby.
“Paige was so supportive and knowledgeable throughout my pregnancy and during the labour, I’m so pleased she was by my side.”
Why It Makes a DifferenceContinuous doula support isn't just comforting, it's backed by evidence. Research shows that the presence of a Doula can lead to:
A reduced likelihood of C-sections and instrumental births
Less need for pain relief or epidurals
Fewer cases of labor induction
Shortened labour times
Greater satisfaction with the birth experience
Higher rates of initiating and sustaining breastfeeding at 6 weeks
A lower risk of postpartum depression
Culturally responsive care that supports equality for all
“Following working with Paige I approached my birth with more confidence and knowledge which definitely impacted on my birth experience. I felt more relaxed and let the oxytocin flow which i feel i wouldn’t have done without Paige’s support and guidance. My husband also benefited and was able to support me better throughout labour”
Why Me
I became a doula because my own first birth left me feeling unheard and out of control. My second, with the right support, felt completely different. And that difference is why I do this work now.
I don't have a set agenda for your birth. I'm not here to tell you what's "best." My job is to help you explore your options, trust your instincts and create a birth experience that feels right for you.
“Every question I’ve had has been answered without ever feeling pressured into certain decisions. Having your knowledge, patience and support has helped me make choices confidently, put a clear birth plan in place, and feel in control throughout my pregnancy and birth preparation.”
Common
Questions
Do I still need a doula if I have a birth partner? Yes, and most families find it makes things easier for both of you. I'm not replacing your partner, I'm supporting them too. So they can focus on being present with you instead of also trying to remember everything, manage communication with staff or stay calm under pressure alone.
What if I don't know what kind of birth I want yet? That's completely normal! And exactly what our antenatal sessions are for. You don't need a fixed plan before we start working together.
Is this only for home births or natural birth? Not at all. Whether you're planning an elective caesarean, a hospital birth a home birth, or you're not sure yet, my goal is the same. To help you feel informed, supported and in control of your choices. Whatever path your birth takes.
Are you like a midwife? Will you be delivering my baby? No, I'm not medically trained and I don't provide clinical care. Your midwife or obstetrician handles all medical aspects of your birth. My role is continuous emotional, physical and informational support alongside them. So you have both medical care and someone dedicated entirely to you.
What if I can't pay it all upfront? I offer flexible payment plans so you can spread the cost. Get in touch and we'll find something that works for your budget.
